So, yes. He really is the most talented person I've ever had the priveledge to see perform. SAM. was pure genius.
The night I went to see "The Life", he was a no show. I will never know how talented he is.
I saw him sing at the cabaret convention last year (or maybe it was the year before?) and he started behind the piano - on a stool with a drink, as though he was at the bar..singing with a mic - but about halfway through the song - he lays down the mic and comes straight downstage center and proceeds to knock us over with his belt - it was one of the most hair-raising experiences I can remember having in the theatre - I still get goosebumps when I think about it. He's AMAZING.

His belt.. oh, man. Nothing compares to seeing Sam live. He's phenomenal. His presence, his voice, everything.
And I'm sorry you didn't get to see him. I'm sure he had a very good reason for not being there.. he wouldn't miss if he didn't.

It was amazing how in GREASE!, he turned a little, sweet song like "Those Magic Changes" into a show-stopping power number. "I want you, I need you, I love you forever, and ever!!!!" God was he awesome!
I think it was Letterman I saw him on (one of those late shows)
and he was incredible!
