Posted: 6/2/08 at 8:12pmI heard Leap of Faith is coming in but it's not the TBA show. Supposedly they're still negotiating for the final show and I hope they strike a deal because I would love to see it.

In that case, the show left off the schedule is definetly FIRST WIVES CLUB.
Word from a well placed source last week was that negotiations were taking place for them to have an out of town tryout in San Francscio at the end of the season but that no contracts had been signed.

Actually I heard that the TBA show is In The Heights. Although if First Wives Club happens, they'll announce it later on since SHN announce more shows later on in the year.
But anyway someone copy and pasted the anouncement from SHN's and posted it on the SF board. http://tinyurl.com/4xfoj6

Leap of Faith isn't necessarily coming to San Francisco. Most recent info is it's a tossup between SF and Chicago.
I would far rather Leap of Faith DOES come to SF, because that way I can get up there (from LA) to see it.

August: OC is a tour. They've had plans to tour posted on their site for awhile but details were going to be announced later.

National Tour. SHN doesn't present regional productions, aside from Pre-Broadway engagements. The official August website also mentions that the National Tour will commence soon.
I hope we receive a heap of unannounced shows throughout the season; they usually work in that manner anyway.

Posted: 6/2/08 at 10:20pmMe too! As long as they add in some more shows, I'll be happy.

LMAO. Oh my GOD.
We should make a tally and revisit it every year to see if the announcement gets pulled, and how many times!

I went to the website...I don't see the new season announcement anywhere...also, I am friends with people at SHN and I was told this afternoon that they won't announce it till Monday.

Thanks for this!!!!! At least, I know that Ever After is definitely going to have its out-of-town tryout in San Francisco later this year, with a Broadway premiere next Spring!
Thanks again!

They did the same thing yesterday, wonder if they do it again tomorrw. Whoever is posting the announcement just to see how it looks up on the site needs to remember to take it down after. They've left it up for a few hours each time.

There's a reason for that. Maybe read the other posts?

Bumping since they officially announced the season today.
Edited the first post since they put up when the shows are coming in and what theater they'll play.

Also, the press release says: "The Fifth Show, a Broadway Blockbuster, To Be Revealed in July!"
Which means it is on Broadway already or been on Broadway.
So, it won't be FWC or LOF, since they both have not been on Broadway yet! Me think ITH!

Posted: 6/10/08 at 9:42pmOnce again, I am denied a White Christmas! I don't need a "special holiday engagement" of Phantom of the Opera! I want a return engagement of Irving Berlin's White Christmas.

I've heard two possibilits for the 5th show. It might be In The Heights but wasn't announced because they're still negotiating. Or it might be Spamalot but they're waiting for the Veags production to close next month so they can announce it.
I'm hoping it's In The Heights.

WooooooW! I'm totally missin' SF theatre now that this announcement's out.
I'm totally curious to see what AUGUST will look like in the Curran
And it'll be cool to see WICKED's marquee in the Orpheum for months on-end
*ugh* GREASE was just in San Francisco 3 years ago.
Curious how many of these spot-holders will pull-out or be rearranged. Don't forget SPRING AWAKENING is squeezed in later as the season-roll-over
