Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre will hold auditions for its upcoming production of "A Sanders Family Christmas" on Saturday, September 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (CDT).
Chaffin’s Barn is seeking actor/singer/musicians (ages 20s and up)for our BackStage at the Barn production of Sander’s Family Christmas. The roles of "Dennis" and "Uncle Stanley" require proficiency at stringed instruments. Ability to play multiple stringed instruments is a plus, but not a requirement. We are seeking guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo and upright bass players. If in addition to a stringed instrument you play harmonica, please bring that as well. No woodwinds or brass needed and the piano position is filled.
NOTE: The roles of Burl, Vera & Denise are cast. Tim Fudge is the musical director and director.
Performance dates are:
*November 24 – Dec 31, 2009 w/ daytime and evening performances. Rehearsals will be held in the evenings Nov 09 – Nov 24.
*There is no performance Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. However, there is a New Year’s Eve show.
Auditionees are asked to prepare (1) standard gospel song or standard hymn on which they will accompany themselves as well as a (1) one minute comic monologue. Please bring all instruments to the audition you consider yourself to have the ability to play. You may be asked to stay to read from the script.
Those auditioning for the role of “June†or “Rev Oglethorpe†need only prepare a monologue – singing and playing an instrument is not required.
