There is probably a very small number of people on this board who will be able to attend this--but Sandi Patty is giving a series of concerts with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra March 9-11, in which the entire repertoire will be Broadway songs. The event is called "Sandi Patty on Broadway," and here is the link for more information:

http://www.indianapolissymphony.org/season/production.aspx?id=982&src=t

Sandi Patty has truly one of the finest voices in all of recorded history, so don't miss this if you get a chance. Although I will not be able to attend, I did catch a few of her Big Band concerts about 6 years ago in which she sang a couple of Broadway songs. Her "Can't Help Lovin' that Man" is the greatest rendition I have ever heard live. Other remarkable Broadway arrangements she performed were "Till There Was You," "You'll Never Walk Alone," and "Beauty and the Beast."

God, I hope they record it.

I LOVE this woman's voice.

If you have a chance to see it, RUN, don't walk!

Went to see this concert, and she was brilliant. I only hope this show travels to other symphonies and pops so it can be experienced by many more. Some of the highlights were: "Before the Parade passes by"(her belt is to die for), "Send in the clowns"(by far the diamond of the show, stunning and the best version I have ever heard), "Doll sings the guys medley" including "Cabaret", "If I were a rich man", and my favorite "Bring him Home"(flawless), and "You'll never walk alone" I hope you get to see it soon. Here's the complete list:
"The Sound of Music"
Applause Medley
Sandi with an I
The Music Man Medley
"All I ask of you"
"Before the parade passes by"
"Hello Dolly"
Theres no business like show business/That's entertainment
"Adelaide's Lament"
"Send in the clowns"
"This nearly was mine"
A doll sings the guys medley
"Never Never Land"
"You'll Never walk alone"
Encore: "People"

RTH--Thanks so much for the review. The song list looks absolutely incredible! I wish I could have been there. Glad to hear her belt is in top form.

FakeMyWay--Sandi will be very close to New York City on May 11. She will be in Lodi, NJ which is about 20 miles away. However, this will be a VERY Christian concert (not that there is anything wrong with that of course--but don't go in expecting Broadway or Big Band). Here is the website for purchasing of tickets:
