I must see what this girl looks like.

I'm not as excited about Sara as I am about Liz McCartney joining the cast. She was great in 'Taboo' and I'm glad to see her back on the Bway stage.
There are some people in the world who say that writing stories, or composing music or dancing sparkly dances is easy for them. Nothing interferes with their ability to create. While I celebrate their creative freedom, a little part of me just wants to punch those motherf*ckers in the teeth...[tos]

I saw the tour in Pittsburgh a few weeks ago. She was the weakest link in the production. Some notes were shaky and flat, some songs and dialouge was too quiet. I'd leave her in the tour longer before she hits the Great White Way.

re: Sara Kramer Set as Next Sophie in Mamma Mia!

When I first read this posting my first thought was "OHHHHHHHHH MYYYYYYYYYYYYY GAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWDDDD"!!!! What the heck are they producers thinking? I've seen Sara as Sophie, well let me say I've seen Mamma Mia since Sara took over the role of Sophie. I was in Hartford, Pittsburgh, & Providence ( yeah I kind of like the show). I saw understudies for more performances than Sara herself went on! From what I've seen on other boards, she's out more than she's in. If she can't handle the tour, how is she going to handle Broadway?

I also have to agree that she is the weakest link in the tour, well... now she'll be the weakest link on Broadway!

The smartest thing they should have done last year was put in Kristie Marsden as Sophie when Tina Maddigan left. Other than Tina, Kristie's the best Sophie I've seen. Just my personal opinion here folks, but I've seen Tina, Kristie, Samantha Eggers (former understudy on tour 2),Betsy Morgan ( understudy tour 2, Bekah Nutt ( understudy tour 2) Michelle Aravena ( tour 1 ), Shalina Kennedy ( tour 1 ), Jenny Fellner ( current Broadway ) and Jill Pace ( original Vegas).

I've seen Mamma Mia a total of 47 times and now I can say... Mamma Mia... I won't go again. Sad, I'll miss the guys in the speedos! ha ha

Tina Maddigan will always be the best girl with golden hair. re: Sara Kramer Set as Next Sophie in Mamma Mia!

I have to admit that my favorite "Sophie" is Kristie Marsden. I've seen Tour 2 159 times ( Betsy Morgan was superb as an understudy!) I haven't seen the tour as often since Sara took over the role. She's a talented young lady and wish her all the best on Broadway.

Miss Kristie has been (and still is ) a bit busy these days filming movies! Her first was a film version of "Reefer Madness" scheduled for release in early 2005. She's currently packing her bags and heading to Mexico to continue filming "Sisterhood of Traveling Pants", which is also scheduled for a 2005 release. Such talent to be shared on the big screen!!! I've had the pleasure of getting to know her since the beginning of Mamma Mia's Second National Tour. I'm sure her MM fans miss seeing her on the road as Sophie, but just think... she'll soon be coming to a theatre near you!

Just remember... "Canadian Girls Kick A$$!"

Kristie was great. I loved that whole cast. Especially Monique Lund. I was so dissapointed that the only recording was from London. I hated that cast.

Sara Kramer is a friend of mine from school, theatre camp, a youth theatre company I am in :) and although I haven't had time to drop by the WinterGarden yet, and I haven't seen her do much pop stuff I THINK she can pull it off, she is the sweet and innocent type :)
When someone blunders, we say that he makes a misstep. Is it then not clear that all the ills of mankind, all the tragic misfortunes that fill our history books, all the political blunders, all the failures of the great leaders have arisen merely from a lack of skill in dancing. - Moliere

re: Sara Kramer Set as Next Sophie in Mamma Mia!

I've seen her twice in the role now. I never planned to see the Broadway production but I couldn't resist buying standing room twice since The Carolee Era began. Sara didn't impress me much the 1st time, but after giving her performance a 2nd look this past Saturday, I can see the appeal- especially if the previous gal was as bad as they say. Sara's got a gorgeous section of her belty range, and does as much with the acting of the role as can be expected. I found myself tapping a foot to her voice often enough while staring into space until Carolee re-emerged. That's the best I can say, and that she is cute. Horrible headshot but still.
