On Saturday night my friend and I saw Christine Ebersole in concert at OCPAC - Orange County Performing Arts Center. She was in the Cabaret Room. The show was at 7:30pm, and was over with at 8:45pm. She was fantastic - great songs and great stories about her family and starting out in NYC in the mid 70's. She's so beautiful and so funny. There was a table of 4, 2 rows behind us who were quite loud and talked during the first 20 minutes or of the show. Finally, after shooting them glaring looks, the usher told them...not asked them, told them to leave. And, they did. Go figure??? The usher said that they reeked of booze.
When the show was over with, we walked by the stage door of the main auditorium where Patti Lupone was performing. It was intermission there, and a few musicians were outside smoking. As we walked by, they told us to go see Patti - it's intermission, just walk in, find an open seat and watch Act 2. It wasn't sold out........ We sat 4th row and saw Patti. She was brilliant!!!! The Symphony was Act 1, and Patti was Act 2. So, we didn't miss anything of hers.
2 Broadway divas under 1 roof...who knew?
