Lately casting dirs. seem to be able to overlook BIG HONKING TATTOOS that lovely young ingenues like to sport on their shoulders and decollete. And they take major sweat proof makeup to cover.
If they turn a blind eye to Cinderella's self-inflicted harley logo along the bodice of her ballgown, I don't think anyone will shrink from a coupla little ol' zit pocks.

Unfortuantly plastic surgery will never totally get rid of a scar. May reduce it or smooth it out..but its pretty much impossible to get rid of it totally. I hear ya tho..scars definetly stink! Chin up tho! there are roles for everyone!
The scars that you have wouldn't even be seen in the huge Broadway houses. Don't worry about it. Remember Christopher Walken, Ed Harris and Willem DaFoe have great careers. All have less than stellar looks.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
" Plastic surgery is highly overated, an author just died from it, that shows you how risky it is, maybe there are a few cases where its warranted but a lot of it is just people not able to accept they are growing older, imho."
I agree that cosmetic plastic surgery is overrated--or over done, but I'll bet, Son, that you are way too young to have any idea what it could be like to wonder who that old person in the mirror is.
It is interesting to watch the older films before plastic surgery was so common. The 40 year olds look so old by today's Hollywood standard of 40. They did it with lighting and costuming and what make-up tricks they could. Some of those people who played a lot of the character parts were not as old as you may think.
And "Besides, my Dear, we all have scars. Wether on the outside or on the inside, there is not a living soul who is not scarred in one way or the other."
PS, Stevos, has anyone told you how hot you are lately?
Okay, um. It happens. I won't say it doesn't. More times than not, I have found make-up covers it up. I have problems with scars. I have burns and such on my arms from cooking and baking as a career. Battle scars are part of the job, but I still manage to steal some roles. You'll find politics anywhere with anything. It's all about 99% disappointment anyway, right? Keep in tip-top physical shape, blow away the producer/director/etc. at auditions, and oh, be able to dance. You won't have to worry about a few scars if you're meant for the field.
"More than in any other performing arts the lack of respect for acting seems to spring from the fact that every layman considers himself a valid critic."

To name a few more names: Elizabeth Taylor and Catherine Zeta-Jones both have large trach scars on their throats.
Taylor's is well-known and saved her life 40+ years ago. She does little to really hide it these days, and it's very visible in some of her films, Cleopatra for instance.
Zeta-Jones' is less written about, but now that I've told you, when you watch her in a film you can occasionally spot a shadow at the base of her throat. I saw an unretouched photo and this scar is quite large.
Don't sweat the small stuff.
"Perfect" beauty is actually pretty dull. Ever watched the "Spokesmodels" on Star Search? Yawn.
"If my life weren't funny, it would just be true. And that would be unacceptable."
--Carrie Fisher
Any aspiring young actors should not feel inferior because they are not "perfect". There are roles for all kinds of people in theatre, television and film. I'd focus on my singing, dancing and acting. That's what gets you noticed.
"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer
"I broke the boundaries. It wasn't cool to be in plays- especially if you were in sports & I was in both." - Ashton Kutcher
Haha true, I heard this from my fifty year old Psych teacher in high school, that it is a person's inability to cope with the changes that time brings on the body that leads people to plastic surgery. One of these days I'm sre it would be a bit epressing but I hope by then I'm not gonna freak out get a hair graft, and liposuction etc etc. The best way to keep looking young is stay healthy, eat right, and exercise. Which I really need to be better about and I am starting to do it too.
My avatar is a reminder to myself. I need lots of reminders...

Matthew Broderick has a large and rather noticeable scar just under his chin and smaller on on his forehead. Doesn't seem to be a problem to getting work. Scars can add character and ruggedness!
