Hey everyone, I am at lovely school right now working on a commercial interests project. I decided to do a specific Broadway show. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks! (as soon as possible would be great)

Also, is there a site where I can find tickets sales info and stuff like that?

On Playbill.com there is a link under the Features Section (on the left) called "Broadway Grosses". This lists a lot of weekly financial and attendance information for Broadway shows.

Your best show to do is The Producers.
You can look at sales growing from previews to opening night and see how it has progressed. Then, find out when Matthew/Nathan left and watch how the figures slowly fall. It's a very interesting show to look at.

Yes, that is a good choice, but I decided Hairspray, just because it won Best Musical and most kids in my class have no idea what the shows are.

The Tony Awards were the first week in June. You might want to see if winning Tony Awards helped the Hairspray attendance/profit. Also the leading lady Marissa Jaret Winokur left on Aug 10. You might want to study if her departure had any effect on the show.

Ugh. Math. The best thing to do is turn things into word problems. Like, "When Voiceanth has a couple of drinks while getting dressed in an Abercrombie shirt to show off his great arms and cover up his pecs so he can go out clubbing in the East Village, he then gets a purple cup full of booze at the first club, two more in a green cup at another club, has a few sips from his flask on his way to the last club he remembers ... how many drinks has he had?" That kind of thing.

The amount of income for Hairspray goes up after Marissa leaves.
Something to keep in mind is box office grosses only tell part of the story...
On Broadway, it's all about the ADVANCE sales as well...

Unfortunately it's hard to tell what percentage of the tickets were sold to tour groups who are stuck with whatever show the tour operator can get. Many of them don't know Harvey Fierstein from George Bush.

Hey! I just presented my project today. With it I showed the Hairspray performance at the Tony's. This is what I said to the class: "You might laugh, but if you really appreciate theatre, than you understand how excellent this is." Anyways, there was little giggles throughout the whole tape. Who cares...everyone else did a movie...wow thats original. So I thought I do a Bway show. You probably don't care, but I will post my grade possibly Monday!

Speaking of terms such as "Math" and "Suicide",
For everyone just starting out high school on this board, Chemistry is the devil incarnate. It IS NOT a science class. It is a math class. I've doubled up this year on math and was oblivious to it. You will never mix chemicals together like the cartoons lead you to believe. Chemistry is the devil.
