Schools for Communication/Theater with strong theater departments
Schools for Communication/Theater with strong theater departments#0
Posted: 10/24/06 at 9:49pmI'm currently a Musical Theater major and have realized that although I love performing, there's much more I want to do. I'm looking for colleges in the NYC/Philadelphia areas where I can major in Communications and still minor in theater or at least take theater classes... anyone know about Marymount's communication's department?

what do you want to do in communication? I applied to Ithaca (for film) but did not get in. Looking back on it was not a good choice. Although, the program was strong it is not close to nyc which is a problem for internships etc. I ended up going to Drexel and we have a very strong program here plus it has a built-in internship junior year. I think sometimes you need to look past the "brand name" schools and see which one has the best to offer.

Posted: 10/24/06 at 10:59pmYeah I have the same question. What do you wanna do in Communications? Is it just to make your parents happy because if you want to act, act. I understand someone might want to have a practical degree to fall back on, but communications really isn't one of those. So what are your plans?

I have to agree with Northwestern. It's my number one, and for those reasons.
Having said that, please don't apply. :)

Posted: 10/24/06 at 11:24pmI have a B.A. in Theatre and went to law school. I am not sure if a BFA would suffice for law school.

Ditto Northwestern - I was a Communications major and worked in the theater dept, so let me know if you have any questions!
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
