I've always preferred the BONNIE & CLYDE demos with just the piano over the fully orchestrated OBC recording, and I was wondering if anyone else had any musical scores that they think are better presented very simply.
Love Story
A Chorus Line
Xanadu
Oh, Calcutta!
Naked Boys Singing
Altar Boys
I don't have a score, but there are several musical theatre songs that I think sound better with just piano:
Send in the Clowns
Everything Beautiful Happens at Night
Gigi
My Ship
There are probably more, I just can't think of any right now.
The Irish Rep did Finian's Rainbow with a two piano arraingement a few years back. It was really quite amazing how well that score worked with just pianos!

The 1996 Off=Broadway revival of I DO, I DO (with Karen Ziemba and David Garrison) had great two-piano accompaniment. It made you think, "Oh yeah - this was written by the authors of THE FANTASTICKS!"

I can imagine that score coming off well that way, I mean it's a two person show why not make it two piano as well.
Taken a step further, why not go John Doyle on its ass and have them play the two pianos?
