Seating Help for Broadway Shows and Radio City Music Hall Christmas Show#1

Hi,
My mom and I are planning on coming to NYC Dec. 12-15 and we are trying to save some $$. We have looked at getting tickets for Mary Poppins, The Little Mermaid, Curtains, and The Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular Show. I was wondering if anyone can help me out on what the seats are like in the Mezz. and Balcony for Mary Poppins? I have heard that it is difficult to hear in the Balcony but Mezz. seats are ok. For The Little Mermaid we have found seats we have found seats in the Rear Mezz. center in several rows. What are they like? For Curtains we have found seats in the Orchestra and Mezz. Are the Mezz. seats ok? For Radio City, it looks like the seats are few and far between but I read on another message board that 2nd and 3rd balcony seats for the show are ok views. I know its a lot of information but we have only been to NYC 2 other times but this is the first time that we are doing it on our own so we want to make sure that we don't make a mistake. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I sat in the front of the first mezzanine and the rear orchestra at two different performances this week and the mezzanine was better. The show is so big, it's better to view from a distance. I sat in the third mezzanine for the Tony awards and for that it was too far, but I'm sure for this it's a better seat then the orchestra.

Get the box seats for Mary Poppins. They're great seats (although slightly partial view, you can see mostly everythinG), and they're $25 ($30 if you go on the weekend).

Compared to the rest of the US, theatres in NYC are smaller. Most road musical houses start at 2000 seats and no Broadway house seats that many. There is something psychological about being toward the back of any theatre, but Bway houses are not huge, huge barns.

As for Radio City (5800 seats), this is not an intimate little show in an intimate theatre. Its a great big show, and even they call it 'a spectacular'. You might appreciate the distance away from the stage that the first mezz gives you.

For Mary Poppins you just need to make sure you're not under the overhanging mezzanine. I had 2nd row mezzanine seats off to the right (which is exactly where she flies out over the audience) and it was spectacular. =) You'll wanna see that, so don't get trapped in the back of the orchestra section otherwise you won't see her.

My dreams are on you, kid. Go make 'em come true. Help me be part of that world, vote for me! <3

I recently went to Mary Poppins and Radio City.
For MP I sat in the mezzanine, Row BB, last seat house right. It was also labeled as a partial view seat, but except for not seeing a little bit of Mrs. Banks sitting room, it was fine. I think I paid $60 for it.
For Radio City I was in the orchestra, in Row WW, Seat 312. I liked this seat as it wasn't too close, nor was it that far back. I've never sat upstairs as this is a barn, but from where I was at I was able to see everything.
Hope this helps your decision.
