Seating Question: Al Hirschfeld Theater

Having never been to the Al Hirschfeld Theater, I was hoping someone could advise me if Row B orchestra is too close? I do not mind sitting close but I am wondering if it has a high stage?

The stage is not at all high. I sat front row for HAIR many times and had a perfect view, but you do have to turn a little bit, they are amazing sights.

Of course, the hight of the stage depends on the production's set design/mechanics. Hair had a particularly low stage because there was no deck automation.

Seating Question: Al Hirschfeld Theater

I sat in the second row for Curtains and I didn't like being that close at all. The stage height wasn't a problem, but I couldn't handle being that close during some of the dance routines.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

After seeing "Promises, Promises" I am sure that this show will have deck automation. Just to let you know, I saw "Elf" from the mid-mezz side and it was a great view!

Thanks everyone, you all make good points.
I like the idea of being up close but I hear what you are saying re the choreography... problem is I can't really afford to buy premium tickets and row B is the closest before the Premium block.
Oh well.... lots for me to think about.
