Posted: 6/27/05 at 10:31pmWhere can i buy used cast recordings in NYC? Seeing as while I am here, I am relatively minted (thanks to the exchange rate) I figure now is the time to buy every CD I don't have. Mucho appreciado, team!

Posted: 6/28/05 at 1:03amAcademy Books & Records on 18th street usually has a decent selection of used cast album Cd's. Also FOOTLIGHT has a small section of used but they keep the rare ones to sell at inflated prices.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

Posted: 6/28/05 at 1:14amThere is a very limited selection on the seven or eight shops along 8th St in the E Village, but they have much lower prices. I've seen new cast albums selling for $3.99, as the local population is not so keen on exploring Caroline, or Change as much as Dashboard Confessional...

Posted: 6/28/05 at 9:59pmActually, that's very true Justice, I have bought mucho albumos from Amazon...I kinda do like the thrill of buying them with real cash and having them straight away. Thanks to those who've offered tips already, I'll check them out when I escape from hospital this week.
