Totally in agreement. Steven Pasquale was in top form, and that's truly saying something. I had the unexpected pleasure of meeting his mother last evening at the concert, and she seems like a lovely person. (He resembles her a great deal.) He certainly deserves to have a musical written for him. Too bad his RESCUE ME schedule didn't allow him to re-create his Fabrizio for the Lincoln Center production of LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA. I can just imagine how wonderful he'd have been. After seeing him at Joe's Pub last month, the opportunity to do so again so soon was a nice treat!

Exquisite evening, start to finish. So glad I went!

"Steven Pasquale is a star.
How he hasn't had a musical written for him is beyond me. Such control and passion all with an understated simplicity. He was stunning."

I was just saying to a friend this morning that I hope he has an original part in an original musical on Broadway soon, because yesterday he easily earned the title of my favorite male performer in all aspects. I love how you summed it up with "such control and passion with an understated simplicity." The simplicity is what really struck me, but it was so heartfelt & passionate! I could rave about his performance for a very long time.

I am still in awe from the performance last night.

First of all, I thought the children were remarkably self posessed and in character considering the short rehearsal time and the fact that they were still working with scripts (which they barely glanced at)

Steven Pasquale - just wow. I had never actually heard the man sing - so it came as a real shock to me. He's also exceptionally easy on the eyes.

Will Chase I thought started off a little weak (and sounded a lot like John Lennon for his first few lines) but really ripped into his role later on. Thoroughly enjoyable.

I thought the whole thing was staged beautifully - and it speaks volumes that I wasn't put off by the fact that it was a staged reading, seeing as how the very lush original produciton is still very fresh in my mind.

And Max REALLY made me notice Mary's father. In a way that I never had before. He made the role poingant and important - and I'd never really given it very much consideration.

Worth my money, that's for sure. I'd see it again tonight if it was ongoing!

Now what would you say if today I started over? Without a thing but this taped together four leaf clover And I'll pretend like everything is already alright And I'll run toward the sun till the castle's out of sight

It's nice to see so much praise for Steven Pasquale. I've been a major fan ever since seeing him on tour in Miss Saigon -- and he sounds phenomenal on the recordings of The Spitfire Grill and A Man of No Importance. I've always maintained that he's one of the best voices working today. He's got a great combination of legitimate Broadway sound and powerful edgy/rock tenor. And yes, he's awfully cute too!

yay! i am so glad to see steven getting this attention for his singing. he has done so many non-singing things and i was always praying he would get something where everyone could hear that glorious voice!! he is amazing. i shared the stage with steven when he was only 19 in Miss Saigon and he was AMAZING then. i little tidbit of info for everyone who might not know...steven was will's replacement on that Miss Saigon tour. though i cried and cried when will left, i love will...i was so thrilled to get to sing with steven every night. not only is he a great talent...he is a wonderful person and was ALWAYS 100% my friend and completely supportive of me on that tour. i can not wait to see him in a brand new musical..in my opionion he AND will will need to get new shows so they can get the recognition that they both deerve.
