I sincerely hope Ms. Miller manages to break out of the "understudy" part for LaChanze. While I saw Dessa Rose with LaChanze there, Miller was absolutely a scene-stealer whenever she had a line or a solo in a song. I only wish I was able to see both her and LaChanze as Celie, but sadly, my NY trip in March only would leave room for one of them...

Well, I know I am going back and will probably see the show on an evening - hoping LaChanze is in.

But if Kenita were on again - I definitely would NOT be upset. The show is in good hands with her - and you hardly realize she is an understudy. She has such great chemistry with the cast - including the scenes with Shug.
