So, I just recently got very into this score, and I have two questions.
1) "Holiday Inn"- Is she joking about her place being *like* a Holiday Inn...or is something else going on?
2) **SPOILER** Why does Jerry leave her at the end?
I checked Wikipedia, and it had nothing in detail about the plot, and the liner notes are...non-existant for the most part, and it's gotten me curious.

Her apartment is like a Holiday Inn because of the number of guys who have spent the night with her there.
I believe Jerry is separated - not divorced - from his wife in Omaha, and decides to go back and try to rebuild his marriage.

Last week I had the pleasure of seeing Michele Lee at Seth's chatterbox. She told some interesting stories about Seesaw and her replacing Lainie Kazan out of town.
She also sang, in rather good voice, Nobody Does It Like Me. She is a true talent.
I believe that Jerry does finally get divorced from his wife in Omaha, but realizes that even though they are seperated by law they aren't emotionally seperated yet. He decides to go back to Omaha and start the relationship all over again from scratch.

Thanks!
I am really getting obsessed with this score....I don't think I've taken it out of the car for 4 days now...most CDs have a 1 or 2 day cycle.

The character Jerry has a song that he sings to Gittel when she is in the hospital. It has a dance that goes with it. Ken Howard as a song and dance man and it worked.
The show was loaded with surprises like this.
In the book "Second Act Trouble" is a long article on the huge out of town troubles the show went through.

She goes to the hospital?
I apparently have no idea what goes on in the show at all.

I have a script by the way. I think it was published by Samuel French or whoever has the rights. It may be available on a used book site like abebooks.com. I haven't looked at in years.
Doesn't Gittel have an ulcer attack or something that puts her into the hospital?
I wonder if there is a 'detailed' synopsis anywhere online (or if anyone has one...?) As huskcharmer pointed out, there is no plot synopsis in the booklet for the Cast Recording, and wikipedia isn't much help going into detail. I would also like to know the story more in-depth!

I checked the Samuel French website and the script is available for $8.50 plus shipping.
That sure beats a synopsis any day.
[I Googled '"Seesaw" script musical' and the French site is about 5 down the list.]

That would imply that I have the money to spend on a script...
Husk, I LOVE this cast recording as well. When I first got it about two years ago, I couldn't stop listening to it. Michele Lee's vocals are brilliant and one wonders why she didn't do a lot more on the Broadway stage. I would have killed to see her Dolly.
When I read the actual script I was pretty surprised by everything going on in the book. For example, she sings "Poor Everybody Else" while she is in the hospital after her ulcer attack (which happens at the end of Act I).
"Poor Everybody Else" opened the second act with a rousing start along with "We've Got It". Great show & score. Michele Lee is a Broadway treasure!!
