Hi everyone,
A friend of mine decided to just get rid of his playbill collection and was going to throw them out. So I said I would take them. He turns out having about enough to fill about 15 large tubs full of programs from EVERYTHING he's seen in the last 40 years. Besides the obvious options of Ebay and Post here and the tips of selling in groups etc. Does anyone know where to appraise these things? I was thinking of just building a store site that just has them and ask people to make offers. There are some rare ones (Judy Holliday in "Bells are Ringing", Barbra "Funny Girl", The original program to the first production of "Bare", "fiddler" with Bette Midler in the cast etc. I am not in a rush to sell. I have not cataloged them all. I just got them in my place. Any advise helps, but am looking more specifically by people that have had some past experience in collecting or selling to collectors.

Not an answer but you may want to check if you have any that playbillvault.com is looking for and lend them to them for scanning.

Would be appreciated by many I am sure!

Just scrolling through the playbills that they (Playbill.com) needs, I see "Funny Girl" which you have, so yes I would definitely catalouge them all first (take your time) then go to the link above and see what you could lend them for scanning, as it is a great thing for many people to see online.
Then I would set up Ebay, it is quite easy and relatively simple. But anywhere is fine, I'm very interested in your sale because since your friend has been going for so long, they might have some playbills I would love to own.
Or a store site is good, but since you want to create a bidding system, Ebay already has one so that should be easier.
Good luck! Please post here when you have the time and all the playbills. I would cry with joy if I were you...
Same here! Id love to see a list whenever you get time (I bet 15 bins will take awhile)!
