Last night I saw the premiere of "Glory Denied", an opera by Tom Cipullo about the longest held POW in vietnam.
Incredible performances all around in this four character piece. Cipullo's music is accessible and could easily be at home in a broadway theater. Beautiful, beautifully sung through piece. Unfortunately, they only have one more performance, but it's certainly worth mentioning.

In case anyone missed it, Glory Denied was featured in today's New York Times, where Midgette mentions in passing alllusions to musical theater.
The line between the two artforms is slowly fading. I can't wait for it to be erased completely.
