OK well I'm going to write my first letter to someone on Broadway. It's Idina, don't know how much success I'll have but I have a few questions.
1)Do you usually type it or write it hand written?
2)When should I expect a response?
3)Any tips on what to write?
4)Will she write anything back or just give me a signed autograph picture?
5)Any other suggestions?

Um...ok. I usually hand-write my letters (my handwriting is really neat). since this is for Idina, i would most likely send a Self-Addressed-Stamped-Envelope. just tell her your thoughts about the show and her performance etc. Idina replies really quickly, so maybe expect a reply within a few weeks or less. i'm not sure what you will get in return, but i think that you are mostly likely to receive a signed picture.

Kinda a stupid question....but when you send a SASE, do you fold it up into a regular white envelope? or do you use a bigger envelope for the letter and teh SASE. haha im very paranoid about this sorta thing.

Idina actually usually takes a very long time to respond. I know people who haven't received anything for months after they mailed her. A SASE would definately be a good idea, and even then there's a chance she won't mail you back. I don't know anyone who has ever gotten anything from her other than a signed pic. Good luck!

Another wierd question. Actually, its a matter of courtesy lol. How would you address the letter?

Dear Idina?
Dear Ms. Menzel?
Dear Mrs. Menzel?
Dear Mrs. Diggs? lol

I know she's married to Taye, so what would be the correct way to address her politely? Also, to what address should letters be sent? Also, what size envelope should I include? I want to get an autographed pic for my girlfriend, she idolizes Idina!

You can write all Broadway actors/actresses at the theatre. The address for Idina is:

Idina Menzel
The Gershwin Theatre
222 West 51st St
New York, NY 10019

I use the address I posted because it's shorter, but your letter will get there either way. :)

Most likely you will get a signed picture. I am sure that she is one of the stars on broadway that get more than others. It is alot easier to sign a picture than write a response back to you.

For the few letters I did send out, I used a large envelope to send it and then put a smaller one inside as the SASE. Just what I did. Never thought of folding up the same size one before.
