Cool topic...I love sexy songs. Well my first choice was Call From the Vatican. Since a lot of people put that, I tried to think of another one and it would definitely have to be Take Me or Leave Me. I'm a gay man, but hearing those two women sing so powerfully to each other turns me on re: re: Sexiest song in a musical That might be TMI. I'm sorry, it's just a hot song.

Cabarethed-You are the first person who has ever said they liked Green Green Dress! Good for you! That song was supposed to be cut from the very first preview but they never went through with it.

Really?? I had no idea. What was their reasoning? I mean...it's pretty hot. Raul purring "Can I tie you up love, if you tell me yes, I'll unbutton every button down your green green dress," in his trademark legit-then-rock technique?? They wanted to cut THAT?!

Yep, no one ever liked that song. No one in the cast, the creative team, nor the audiences, lol! It may have had something to do with the silly choreography that went with it, who knows?

I hate to jump on the bandwagon...but a call from the vatican.

i saw nine for the first time last night and i swear the jaw of every member of the audience dropped at the same time...male and female. no denying that it's sexy. and special effects or not, jane krakowski bought SOMETHING to that song.

Mallory's "Lost And Found" from CITY OF ANGELS is one sexy song.

And "With Every Breath I Take" is the one of the sultriest ever written.

"The Tennis Song" is a playful sexy volleying duet.

Damn there's some memorable songs in this show.

So, I'm guessing that "Good for you" was total sarcasm then? Sorry for being so naive...I did find the staging horribly awkward during the tour though.

No, it was not sarcasm at all. I mean what I say-I'm happy that you liked that song and that you said so. I'm also a person who has her own taste regardless of what anyone else likes. DOTV is my favorite broadway musical of all time so far and I couldn't care less what anyone thinks.

However, I do think the staging of Green Dress was awful, but I would never be sarcastic to someone who is simply stating their opinion. Please don't mistake me for one who would. That is totally out of line and I don't tolerate it!

"Bring on the men" was really sexy. Any idea why they cut it for broadway? I saw a local production and I thought it added well to the story.

How about "Good and Evil" from Jekyll and Hyde. That's Lucy's number in the pub, when she's kind of singing it to Jekyll. She looks incredibly sexy there! At least Colleen does. I never saw Eder.

"Wet" from Steel Pier, as sung as a duet by Brent Barrett and Jane Krakowski on his Kander & Ebb cd. Even without visuals, it's one of the hottest things ever, IMHO.

And just to get back to Green, Green Dress for a minute, I didn't like the song either the first time I heard it, and I still think it's kind of a silly song, but it grew on me, the way Raul sang it! So I'm glad they kept it in, too.

NBC- It does grow on you, I agree. I never thought it was as bad as they were making it out to be. And Raul makes any song sound good.

Oh ok, thanks for clearing that up re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Sexiest song in a musical I wasn't trying to cause conflict, I was just curious.
And hey...nothing wrong with loving DOTV. If something speaks to you, who cares what others think!

Everybody's Girl -- Steel Pier
A Call From the Vatican -- Nine

NBC, I have to second the vote for Wet -- Brent and Jane... Sexiest song in a musical

That's so funny about Green Green Dress because I think the song is cute and everyone else I know thinks it's lame. I didn't know there was so much distaste for it. Oh well! P.S.- I haven't seen the show so I don't have the awkward staging to link it to.
As for sexy songs...
Definitly Dangerous Game from J&H. Sexy and creepy at the same time.
I also think "So In Love" from Kiss Me, Kate is sexy. "So taunt me, and hurt me. Decieve me. Desert me. I'm yours till I die." It think it's definitly sexy.

The lyrics are sexy, but the blocking and the way its performed is not. That's why not many people think of it as a sexy song.

I actually remember thinking that some of the interaction between Raul and Amy Spanger during Green, Green Dress was very sexy. I thought some of the lyrics were silly, though of course I can't remember off-hand which ones. (Not, obviously, the "let me tie you up!" part...)

Wasn't the point of "Green Green Dress" just a silly, playful interaction between the young couple anyway? Nothing very deep.
It wasn't my favorite song from the show, but after many many CD listenings, it has grown on me considerably, and with Raul singing it .......... wow! I don't know if I would enjoy that song with someone else's voice, though not many voices compare to Raul's in my opinion re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Sexiest song in a musical

As for sexy songs, I would say "Dangerous Game" and "Good and Evil" from Jekyl & Hyde.
