We are performing this play at my college next year. Does anyone know anything about this play?

The Broadway production starred Nigel Hawthorne and Jane Alexander in about 1987. There was a feature film made in the early 90s, and it starred Anthony Hopkins and Debra Winger.
Shadowlands is a story of a mid-life bachelor, religion writer and children's writer too (Tales of Narnia), C.S. Lewis and his marriage to an American lady who dies young.
Tear jerker material, but very nicely done. Rent it.
Hawthorne won the Tony and Winger was Oscar-nominated.
