Has anyone tried this before. I'm told that the typical "door" is gate 1, but do they set up barricades or simply a "hope that you catch them" sort of thing?

There are no barricades, but if there's a lot of people they sometimes ask people to get behind the tiny fence around the grass. Just hang out there and at least the leads usually stop.

Yes. When I've gone there have been barricades/fences. You just stand on the grass. If you're facing the exit, exit to the left. It's kind of dark (not a lot lighting). A lot of the cast didn't stop the times I went.
