Does anyone here know the status of the revival of The Shanghai Gesture? It's not listed in the Times and I haven't seen any print ads for it. I assume it's still happening -- am I wrong?

Yep, it has a show tonight and then all weekend. Tickets are up on telecharge.

I'm eager to hear reactions. I love the play and the movie but I don't want to see it unless it's done well.

The movie had to make some changes to get past the censors. Mother Goddam became Madame Gin Sling and the setting became an opium den instead of a bordello. Ona Munson played the Mother Goddam figure.
