What are her chances of her coming out on her closing night(Feb 5) from the stage door? I got tickets, my parents got row N and I got row AA. So excited, and dying to meet her.

I think she comes out some of the time. Although for her closing night you would think she would come out. I saw it on a Friday night and she didn't come out. But closing nights are always different.

So, why is she leaving? Like, does she just need a break? Or is she going to spend time with her baby?
doing a limited engagment show that she planned before doing DRS. Or at least it was put in her contract.

Sherie tends to go out of the front of the theater. She's very sweet if you catch her before the show, however.

If you really want to meet Sherie,You will probably have the best chance when she is in the play Landscape of the Body in March-May.I just got my tickets earlier today and I am looking forward to it.I also have tickets to Grey Gardens, so I am hoping to meet Sara as well.I did not get these tickets just because of them. These look like great productions, but it will be a nice bonus if I get to meet them as well.

Yes, but it's extremely rude.

why didn't laura marie duncan get the role instead of rachel york?
Because Rachel is more well-known (at least comparable to Sherie)?
More qualified? (I've never seen Laura so I can't say)
I believe the former though.

There is a reason Laura didn't take over...
...but I will not say why.
Just an aside for all of the Sherie Rene fans: Tickets for her upcoming show, Landscape of a Body, went on sale today. ALL tickets are only $15 (plus a $2 service charge), and will likely sell out fast, so get them while they're still available.

ACTUALLY, more well-known (though I wrote more well known) is perfectly CORRECT grammar.
Well-known is a phrase.
"Better known" means something different than "more well-known."
Laura is also an extremely valuable member of the ensemble, in both her actual part and her ability to understudy. I'm sure part of the decision lied in the fact that they didn't want to lose her and have to replace her important contribution to the ensemble.
While Laura does play an interesting role in the ensemble, I am sure it wouldn't be a big deal to take her out of it- *I* could play her ensemble track. It's easy. As far as understudies go, there are hundreds of those. Laura was simply not cast as Christine in the Broadway production because her name is not nearly as large as Rachel York's, Rachel is closer to Sherie in looks and style, and Rachel York fans will flock to see the show simply because she is in it. I highly doubt any Laura Marie Duncan fans would flock to see her if she were to play Maureen in Rent.

I saw Laura Marie Duncan in for Sherie when I saw the show, and while she was good, and even very good... I couldn't see her performing the role full time. She was just missing a certain something.
I liked Laura when I saw it. She was just different- not less- different. Great singer.
