Did anyone else pick up the new cd today?
It reminds me of Sondheim. I like it. The lyrics are very funny; and in the booklet they plot the scene for you before each song, so you can read what is supposed to be said before you hear the characters sing.
Bernadette Peters, Nathan Lane, and Carol Burnett are definitely the stars of this album. Every one is great, but those three make it wonderful. It would be so great to see the same cast from the cd do like a one night concert version of the show.

I don't know if the show itself would go over well with audiences; and I would personally want to see the same cast that recorded the cd...that's quite a few big names. I can't imagine they would all be available to do a limited run in a Broadway show at the same time. But I think a concert version would be fun and exclusive. They could do it as a benefit fundraiser.
lol I could just picture the staging with Carol Burnett getting shoved into a mummy case. lol
