That's like asking if only gay men can play Albin and George. That's absurd.

In France, you mean?

Salmon leap from the womb of the white sea you look on; they are calves, they are lambs of good color, in peace without slaughter.

Why is the world would you consider an idea like this?

" That's absurd."

Of course it is. I was mocking the "should Puerto Ricans only be cast as Sharks" thread.

My question is this: in POTO, everyone is French except La Carlotta and Piangi...why, then, is Mme. Giry the only character that does a French accent?

I've been wondering why the lower class characters in the London cast of LES MIZ have cockney accents. To denote class structure? Using that logic, in the American cast, The Thernardiers and Gavroche should use either white trash hillbilly accents, or Brooklyn "Bowery Boy" accents!

I've been wondering why the people in the revival of NINE speak with Italian accents. The play is set in Italy, and they would be speaking Italian. When you do ROMEO AND JULIET, or TAMING OF THE SHREW, you don't use Italian accents, even though they are set in Italy.
