I'm hoping Condon has taken note from Rob Marshall in giving Chita a cameo in the CHICAGO movie. I, for one, love to see original cast members make cameos in movie adaptations.
I personally think it would have been great to use Gene Wilder for a cameo in either THE PRODUCERS or CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. It just adds a little bit of surprise to the movie.
So, does anyone think Condon has plans to use Holliday, Ralph or Devine in the DREAMGIRLS movie?

I think it would be great if early in the show during the talent contest, he put them in as a trio competing against the Dreamettes. It would be hilarious if Effie made a remark about how the group was too old to be competing as a "girl group".
Lol.
That would actually be quite amusing.

I'll have to ask my production source about it when I get a chance, but as of a month or two ago, I don't think there were any plans for OBC cameos. That may have changed, though.
Wouldn't it be funny if they played Charlene and Joanne...the ladies who quit on Jimmy at the top of the show?
Margo,
has your production source told you anything about how the girls are doing?
What did Chita do in Chicago? It's been so long since I've seen it.

She had a couple of lines with Roxie right before "When You're Good to Mama."
Stop lyin'. Margo's the coffee boy there.

I hope that they do have a cameo, just for fun. It would be really funny if they gave some advice to the Dreams, like Chita gave advice to Roxie in Chicago. ("You ever had Morton before?")
Aw- This would be priceless if they all had a cameo in the movie.

As of now the only Original Dream scheduled for a cameo is Loretta Devine. She has always been scheduled for that cameo, its not new information. She plays an old friend of James Thunder Early, who late in the movie, following Jimmy's death, is seen at the piano reprising "I Miss You Old Friend" -- referring to Jimmy and she in a past life together. Its quite a lovely scene and should prove quite poignant -- particularly for Dreamgirls fans who know her as the original Lorrell and that connection to Jimmy Early. There is no plan for Sheryl Lee Ralph or Jennifer Holiday for any cameos.
One question...WHY?!?
First they were snubbed from the concert...now the movie.

I adore Loretta Devine so I'm thrilled that she's getting a cameo, but it's too bad we don't get to see the others.
