Lottery: 2 hours before the show drawing 90 prior to show. 6PM for 8PM shows drawing at 6:30PM $36.50 each side orc Partial view (35 tickets I think or somewhere around their). (I've heard it's a horrible show)
No SRO
Shrek
Lotto 16 seats 9AM drawing at 10AM M&M world, $26.50 each side Orc & boxes
Rush: $36.50 each 1 per college ID whatever they have left
NO SRO
TLM
$30 each 1 per college ID onsale when the box office opens Front Row of the ORC
SRO: $26.50 when EVERY SEAT is sold
N2n: Rush $25 each sold when the box office opens usually in the front row and boxes 26(or 2re: Show Ticket Information seats per show. (Need to line up early) (They also have $36.50 seats in the last row of the mezz)
SRO: $26.50 when the show is sold out

39 steps
$26.50 Student rush 2 per ID sold 2 hours prior to show (VERY easy rush from what I've heard)

Rock of Ages
Lottery
32 partial view side Orc $26.50 each Names are taken 2 hours prior to show drawing 90 minutes prior to show (My friend and I have both won TWICE both Saturday night shows)
Student rush: $36.50 each 2 per ID Not Available on Friday & Saturday nights (might not be for Sat Mat's either) Whatever is left sometimes Partial view

Hair
Lottery: 28 seats located in the boxes of the theater $25 cash. Names taken at 5:30PM for the 8PM show drawing at 6PM.
SRO: $25 when the show is sold out
HAIR IS AMAZING BTW TOTALLY WORTH SEEING!!

West Side: Lottery 18 seats front row $26.50 each
Partial views: When everything else is sold out
$24= Balcony
$46(I think)= Mezz
$60ish= Orc

SRO= $26.50 Balcony, $36.50 mezz (I Think $46.50 ORC)
Lottery is only 9 names so it makes it a hard lotto to win and some ppl say its rigged

Our Town (It's off Broadway so I'm not sure) No lottery tho Might have student rush
Enjoy you're trip
Hope I helped

You were a big help. The last time I was in the city, I did TKTS or had pre-ordered tickets. I definitely want to see some shows, so I'll try TKTS for larger name shows and rush for other ones. Thanks.

On TKTS:
I don't particularly like using it and I'll tell you why
A) The lines are usually very long
B) TKTS prices for Broadway shows are usually between $60-70 each, for around the same price you can print out a discount code and go right to the box office (Avoiding the long lines at TKTS & being able to pick your exact seats.)
C) TKTS sometimes gives partial view seats without telling you (IE Next to Normal according to the box office "Most TKTS seats are partial view"

What I usually do is try to get the rush or lottery tickets first and have a printed discount code with me for the show I really want to see that way if I lose the lottery or don't get the rush tickets I can still get a seat cheaper than the regular box office price also be open to SRO.
Like at Hair you could pay$85 with a discount code to sit in the Orc(if you get them after lotto you could end up in the back of the ORC (not saying you will but you could) so you could sit for $85 or stand in the back for $25.

Hope I helped
Also know that their is a cyber cafe on 49th street next to the EON so if you lose a lottery and don't have a code with you, you can run their then go to a box office. Codes are usually found at
1. Playbill.com
2. Broadwaybox.com
3. Theatermania.com

Enjoy you're trip

Our Town has student rush but not guaranteed. Only if they have tickets left and when I went (on a Tuesday), even though they said they would sell them at 6pm, they didn't do it until a minute before the show. In the end, 6 seats open and there 5 of us waiting there for SR so luckily we all got in last minute but just perfectly (and TOTALLY WORTH IT!). Tho Our Town starts at 7:30 so if you can't get in, there's still a slight chance you can run back up to Broadway and try 39 steps or something.

Hair is a must see and to be honest, I preferred the SRO view over the Lotto. (which you can sometimes buy before lotto).

Personally I'm in the love for WSS camp but apparently it's a hard lotto to win.

9 to 5 is light and not brilliant but still fun (and the Lotto is AFTER WSS and Hairs so if you don't get those, you can always run over here). Next to Normal, even tho I didn't love it, is still worth seeing. 39 Steps is a hoot and probably a great backup since it's probably easy to rush (I had no prob at all) in case you can't get anything else.

Def. Skip Shrek, Rock of Ages and Little Mermaid. blech.

I would also recommend Next Fall if you want a good (but small) play.
