Do shows change their performance schedules for the summer months? If they do, when do the new schedules take effect, generally?

Show schedules are the same in summer as they are the rest of the year (the only times schedules change are the weeks of Thanksgiving, Xmas and New Years).

I was curious because the Rent site lists different times for 6/28/04 - 9/5/04, I didn't know if thats standard or not

Yes. Rent changes during the summer. They do Wed shows then, but not now.

Thanks thesbijean. I hope they move that date up a few weeks if they should do it again this year, I plan on going to the city in early/mid-June, and want to catch a (pref. Wednesday) matinee of Rent while I am there

Actually, that is not true. Every show is different.
Avenue Q had a different show schedule in the summer.
It had Monday night shows and now they are dark on Monday.
Check each show to make sure.
