I am heading up to NYC on Sat 1/30 and looking for recommendations for Off Broadway. We are looking for an afternoon show (play or musical) and on the cheaper side $20 - $40. Any suggestions? Thanks
Wide Awake Hearts at 59e59 is $35. It's listed on tdf for $18 for Thurs & Fri. Plenty of seats for the matinee so it may turn up on there. I didn't think it was as bad as most people (thus the empty seats). The staging is ripped straight from Ivo Van Hove which is kind of amusing. Also check for discounts on Theatermania.
Are you specifically looking off Broadway? Because theoretically, you could see actual Van Hove for $20. They have rush tickets that probably aren't hard to get.
