"I really don't know, but here's my feeling: Stop missing performances.
If you want to leave a show, then leave. If you want to take a vacation? Screw you."
If you don't know the situation? Keep quiet.

if she had showed up sick the name of your snotty thread would have been
DONT COME TO WORK IF YOURE SICK!
and you would have talked about how natascia wasnt as amazing as she was the first time you saw her, and you told your friends how amazing she was, and wtf because if youre in professional theater and you cant sing the role you shouldnt be onstage you should be drinking tea and emergen-C
8 performances a week is taxing. few ppl can do it without getting sick here and there.

"In the last month of the run (May 2004) she injured her foot during Mr. Goldstone and was out for a performance on doctor's orders."
That was the performance I saw. I was sad, but Maureen Moore, as I've posted MANY times, was fantastic!

Honestly, here's the thing. You're right. If she HAD been sans voice, or less than she was capable of, it would have been a disapointment.
I'm sorry if this seems like a "snotty thread." I didn't mean it that way. I'm just saying.
However, in this particular case, I paid for a ticket to see a performer I loved. I'm not blaming Natascia. She's not known for missing performances. I assume that she was on vacation. But shouldn't the box office have let me know?

No. The box office doesn't have to tell you when a performer is on vaction. And she might not have been on vacation. She also could have been sick.
If you really want to see Natascia again, why don't you go to the show again if you like it alot?
