I brought my Jimmy Playbill for Gorshin to sign after Gracie
To say he was shocked was putting it mildly. I have his autograph on it. He did remark I was one of the few who saw it.
He looked better on stage made up as Allen that he did offstage. His portrayal was masterful.
"I will always lament the fact that the LuPone Gypsy never got filmed."
It wasn't? Wanna make a bet?
Gorshin played Gracie Allen?

Speaking of filming for the Library at Lincoln Center, I worked there for awhile. There are several reasons why shows don't get recorded.
1. The library itself has a discriminatory policy of which shows get filmed. They only have so much space and they don't want 10 different Hamlets in their files. So there has to be something of prominence in the production.
2. Of the shows they want recorded, someone has to pay for it. The library has very limited funds, so most of the time the producers of the show have to put up the money to film it.
3. Some people associated with the show just don't want it recorded (cough Harry Connick Jr, Thou Shalt Not cough).

I would have liked to own a copy of the "Story of My Life" with Will Chase and Malcolm Gets. I have the music CD, but would also like to watch it.
And, Next to Normal, absolutely.
I'd love the option of being able to buy (or, at least view online) videos of them all, as someone who lives far from NY.
Women on the Verge. I adored that show.
