Before you even read the rest of this post, please note that this is somewhat like a review on the packaging of the CD with a question at the end.
Hey guys- first of all, I'm sorry that I did not post this on my original Shrek OBCR thread. Just can't seem to find it.
But anywho, I finally got my hands on the CD and was at first disappointed in the fact that it is a cardboard case, but it's slowly growing on me, though I'd still rather have a jewel-case.
For me, presentation means a lot. So this actual packaging let me down a bit. A big thing for me on this one is that there are simple Photoshop errors.
(Look at Shrek's head at the back of the lyrics booklet. The background is much more defined and has richer color as compared to the rest of the picture. It almost looks as if somebody dusted off just his head.)
As well as the errors, the background on the lyrics page is quite pixelated.
On the UP side of the CD, though the inside of the packaging may be a bit bland, I thought the fairy-tale characters was quite cute.
Also, I just realized that in the "Freak Flag" shot, some of the swings are in there (or performers/characters that aren't usually in the number)
Now, packaging aside, on Track 9, Who I'd Be (favorite song in the show, btw) a fraction of the first note is cut off. Is it like this on all of the CD's? iTunes? Or is it just my CD that has a possible glitch?

I hate the packaging.
Yes, it's Shrek "going green". Hahaha. Green joke. FUNNY.
Yes, it's the hip thing to do to do a fold out digipak or whatever the hell it's called to be environmentally conscious and also re-create the old school VINYL look! CREATIVE.
Just gimme a damn jewel case and be done with it.

Posted: 4/4/09 at 11:56pmI don't know why, but I had the strange urge to break down and buy it tonight... and so the outside may not be that great, but it looks really good when you fold it all out and see all the characters. And, I don't mind that its not a jewel case, in fact, I don't like them sometimes because I like the jewel cases to be perfect but sometimes they get cracks and then I don't feel like replacing them, but its not THAT bad

Hey guys- you know what I just realized? The BWW premier had no glitch at all on the first note of Who I'd Be! I have no idea why, but it has me thinking now...
And Pianolin- I miss your West Side Story avatars...

I got some stickers with my booklet which were unnecessary. And my gate-fold tore a little when I tried to get the booklet out.
It's not *bad* packaging, but I would have preferred a jewel box also.

about that... I am PISSED! Somehow, I lost that hat 
I emailed the company that does the merch. and they said they stopped creating them and they won't be back until next winter because it is out of season! GRR!

Whaat?? That's really upsetting! I hope you get it as soon as it is re-released! But on the brighter side, there's this REALLY cool and nice-looking baseball hat here- http://westsidestorygoods.com/view/goods/like/apparel
You can do spring/summer shots in this one and fall/winter shots in the beanie.
For some reason, you come off as the kind of person that's into that stuff. lol I may be wrong, but I was just thinking that it would be funny to see your pic change from week to week.

Hats and me do NOT work well together. I have too much hair for them, but I will wait for the beanie next winter. The only other show that has one is Shrek, and I don't feel like paying 20 for it. MAYBE 10, but I do have the Red WSS Shirt! And I want to get the sweatshirt.
I wonder if Hair has one.. hmm, I need to check that out!

But question about the cd... so it came with these stickers. I got 2 sheets (they both had 4 stickers on them) but they were of the same thing... did everyone else's have the same stuff?
