Is there a railing that would obstruct my view? If anyone ever sat around front mezz, how is it?

I sat in Row A of the front mezz...I believe I was seat 1. I was on the aisle. The rail was in my view only when the actors were very close to the front of the stage and I'm pretty tall. It did not block anything or limit my enjoyment. It was a problem for 30 secs here and there. My little cousins were in seats 3 and 5 and my mom in 7...and they had no issues with the rail.

Anyone know about rear mezz for this show? I'm sitting there next week and VERRRRY nervous. I'd like to just hear the straight answer - does it interfere with your enjoyment with the show?

In the front mezz, if you're on the aisle on the left mezz or right mezz (and maybe both sides of the center mezz), the rail might be a problem. The rails are higher at the end of the stairs.

Front of the rear mezz isn't too bad. The back, however, feels miles from the stage and the actors look about half an inch tall. Luckily for you, PiraguaGuy, Shrek has been fairly empty on the weekdays so if you're going then you shouldn't have a problem moving down to a better seat.

Well, I'm going during KNOB, so I doubt we'll be able to move down...

Don't want to start a new thread, but I noticed Shrek on TDF this week for the Tues, Wed Night, and Thurs shows. I'd be curious if anyone purchased them and where the seat actually ended up being. Heading to NYC myself Feb 18-22 and if Shrek finds its way back to TDF then, I'm tempted to partake.

Considering that last week it played to 56% of capacity ... yeah, you might say sales are bad.

First row front mezz - that's where I sat, and it was fine.

I sat Front Row Mezzanine, Seat 1, and the view was extremely obstructed by the raised rail that is only obstructed by that seat. I had to lean over all throughout Act I to be able to see the whole stage. I moved to Seat 5 during intermission and my view was complete and full.
