YES! I'M SEEING THE SHOW! GOTTA PROBLEM? Any who, I just bought my tickets for November 11th, and before I get to my point, I have to say this: God tickets are expensive today! I payed almost $200 for my seats, and they're in Rear Mezz! Ok, so my tickets are in Row D of the Rear Mezzanine Center. I already bought the tickets, but if I get more money, I have the option to upgrade if direly neccessary. Are these ok seats? Looking at the seating chart for both this theater and the Lunt, they were about where I sat for that (Rear Mezz Center Row E), and those were ok, but I was just wondering if there were going to be any major problems, as I know all theaters aren't the same.
I sat in the rear mezz at the Broadway and remember it being kind of far. I didn't like it.

I think I was slightly further back than you.
I sat two rows behind you and it was way too far back. Also, the acoustics are terrible and a lot of the time it was hard to hear what was happening on the stage.
Bumping for a new question. How is the side orchestra at this theatre, particularly row P? With this show, how much is missed from the side? Thank you for any help!!!!!!!!
bumpp.
Prolonged bumpage!
I'm trying to decide if I should buy a ticket (just realized the promos are good until March) for my upcoming trip and can't decide if I should get it now or wait since they have implemented student rush. Kind of wondering what the rush tickets are like view-wise and also if being too close seems to be a problem with this show. This thread talks about being too far away in mezz, but with the promo I can get Orchestra C 9 and wonder what that might be like. Normally would just wait to rush, but with the news that sales are doing quite well, I'm kind of nervous. Thanks again for any help, I just really want to add some more musicals to my list and this sounds fun. :)
Just gonna bump this again. I'm planning on buying a ticket for Shrek when I get home from work tonight, so I'm really hoping someone can help me out and respond before then. The discounted seats that telecharge seems to be offering are C5, C9, and K6 (all Orchestra, Right Orch. for the first two and Left for K6). Just wondering which of these you think will be less obstructed. I've only ever either sat center orchestra or mezzanine, so not sure (especially with this show having such a lavish set) if I will be missing anything. Please help if you've seen this show or been to this theater, as I'm going to buy a ticket either way and want it to be the best possible. And as usual, thank you for rocking the socks off of theater.
C5 and K6 aren't really going to be obstructed since they are only a couple of seats from the aisle. Either is fine. I'd go with C because I like being close, but if you want to be slightly further back, go with K.
The thing about being that close for Shrek (re: row C) is you should know that the sides of the stage slope up from the center orch section- so the stage is lower in front of B2 than in front of B8, and (I believe) the same is true on the opposite side. I sat in B4 orch, lotto seat, and I was fine doing the sit up super straight, sit on my jacket, and still not able to see upstage thing, for a $26.50 lotto seat, but I would not spend discounted orch prices to sit there.
Personally I'd go with K.
