Oh my god, that's so great and SO bizarre. One of the greatest actors on the planet doing such a silly, thankless role -- I'm sure he'll have a blast (and it probably pays a lot better than doing Shakespeare and Stoppard).

Yay for great actors and bizarre but fabulous casting choices...

though I was rooting for Eddie Izzard..:)

That's so kooky. Fits the show perfectly. Wow Curry really didn't want to stay with the show for long did he? Is he that unhappy?

Well I wasn't familar with Alan Tudyk before and that was a great casting choice. I saw both him and Hank and with the exception of the Knights of Ni part, I preferred Alan.
I am surprised Tim is leaving before the holiday rush though. Maybe he wants to go home for Christmas.

Beale is one of the finest (and some would say THE finest) actors on the English-speaking stage. A three-time Olivier Award winner (the West End equivalent of the Tony), he's a brilliant classical and Shakespearean actor, but also excels at comedy and contemporary plays. Basically there's nothing he can't do -- truly a genius and an actor's actor.

The tourists don't care who is in the show, they care about the show.

I'm looking forward to seeing him when I see the show again next May. My only question is: Who else may leave the show before then? (I hope Michael McGrath and Christian Borle stay---they're amazing) Anyone know the answer?

I saw Beale years ago in Edward Bond's RENAISSANCE in Stratford at The Swan - I have seldom seen anybody, anywhere, have such a good time while carrying a whole friggin' performance - verse, yet.

Edit - wait, no, I've come to my senses (those what I have left) - it was RESTORATION, not Renaissance - foolish me!

Beale is one of the most brilliant and intense actors working today (anyone who saw him in Jumpers on Broadway or Uncle Vanya at BAM can attest). I hope this works out for him. I wouldn't want this to turn into Henry Goodman, Part Deux.

Eddie Izzard,..I like that, or Jim Dale. I have tickets once Tim is gone, so I will report back on Simon.

And aren't Jim Broadbent and Michael Gambon in the same league as Simon? Just asking..

He'll have been with the show for a year, including the Chicago run. That's not such a short time. I'm not one bit surprised he isn't extending his run, for any number of reasons.

Wow, saw him in "Jumpers". Sounds like an interesting choice. (And I mean that in a good way!)

I saw Jumpers and he was magnificent. He's too great an actor for such a role but I look forward to seeing what he does with it.
