Singing and Sinus Infections

To all you singers out there. If you notice something in your voice is changing go to the Doctor. I noticed recently that my voice was not as good as usual. I went to a throat doctor and i found out it was because i had a sinus infection for several months.

That happened to me. I noticed that my voice was weird and then my nose got stuffed up and I had a sinus infection.

It always starts in the throat for me. I will feel perfectly fine and then it will hurt when I swallow. Then my nose will get stuffy and then the cough comes. Go as soon as your throat irritates you. I always thought they were colds and just tried taking sudafed...not a good idea.

Happened to me as well. I didnt even realize I had it for a long long time until my friend recommended that I go see a doctor.

I have had a sinus infection for months. My Doctor told me it was one of the worst infections he has ever seen and i had not a clue.

And if you do...any good vocal coach/musical director can tell. I almost had something thrown at me from the pit when a previous music director found out. Suffice it to say I never used it again.

Thank god you got that taken care of, Corine. Now you have no excuse to avoid the Hairspray audtion. I know I have the part, but I might have it put into my contract that I don't do matinees, so you could be the understudy for my alternate.

ps My fantastic Doctor talked theater with me in the office.
I almost died. So, what did you think of Wicked, he asked me as i was having a tube put down my throat. His 10 year old daughter loves Idina and has seen Wicked 7 times.

Did he wonder if you were gagging from the tube or the mention of Wicked?

And by the way, as I said, you would be my alternate's understudy. Not my understudy. But you should totally go to the audition, you'll totally NAIL it.

I would love to be your alternate's understudy's understudy.
And Ebonic. If i am allowed to do that i will.
But the chances of me as Tracy Turnblad's understudy is very slim.
Slim, that made me crack up.
PS Mama- What cracked me up was he asked me what i do and I told him a theater series for singles. And then he said "Did you love Wicked". And I started laughing. I said yes why. He said his 10 year old is obsessed with IDINA and Wicked.
I can't even get away from Wicked when i am at my ent.
LOL.

No Namo. He wanted to know what i thought about Wicked.
Namo. My Mother went ga ga for Wicked. And she wanted to come to my Q event but my event was sold out. Mom could not go.
Tickets fly fast for Q.
And Namo. I liked Wicked. Very much actually. But once was enough.
