-It's everything but preordained at this point. The Tony Gods are going to be blessing this show all night.

Possible Upset: You're kidding, right?

Best Musical

In The Heights
-Though competition with Passing Strange has been tough, it's the better production overall and Passing Strange's lack of touring ability will hurt it.

PU: Passing Strange

Best Book of a Musical

Xanadu
-A big 'ol sloppy kiss the Tonys will give to a scrappy little show that wasn't right for the big award. It helps that the other nominees pretty much sucks.

PU: In the Heights

Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written for the Theatre

Passing Strange
-This will be a consolation prize for Stew, who will fall just short of the big one.

Best Revival of a Play

Boeing-Boeing
-When Macbeth got backlashy, this resurrection of a '60s sex farce rose from the ashes and will pull narrowly ahead on Tony night.

Best Revival of a Musical

Rodgers & Hammerstein's South Pacific
-No matter what you think of Gypsy, you have to admit that the entire show rests squarely on the shoulders of the performances, which will be duly rewarded. South Pacific made itself relevant and stunned anyone who saw it.

Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play

Mark Rylance, Boeing-Boeing
-For the same reasons as Revival.

PU: Patrick Stewart, Macbeth

Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play

Deanna Dunagan, August: Osage County
-It's basically down to her and her onstage daughter, Amy Morton, but Tony historically has a thing for Mamas.

PU: S. Epatha Merkerson, Come Back, Little Sheba

Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical

Lin-Manuel Miranda, In The Heights
-A giant domino effect: The voters who picked PS for Score will give Lin a consolation prize for his mind-blowing performance. Most voters probably voted for one or the other, so if he wins score, Best Actor will swing to Lin. Daniel Evans was sadly neglected in the hubbub.

PU: Paulo Szot, South Pacific

Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical

Patti LuPone, Gypsy
-The other actresses will have their moment, but this is Patti's year and it's time to reward her.

PU: Kelli 'O Hara, South Pacific

Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Play

Raúl Esparza, The Homecoming
-Norton probably deserves it, but voters will remember Esparza's shocking Company snub and give him a consolation prize.

PU: Jim Norton, The Seafarer

Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play

Rondi Reed, August: Osage County
-A tough race, but Tony will ultimately throw yet another statuette at A:OC.

PU: Martha Plimpton, Top Girls

Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical

Danny Burstein, Rodgers & Hammerstein's South Pacific
-Another hot race, but Burstein will ultimately come out on top. With Passing Strange probably being rewarded in other categories, giving an award to Breaker seems excessive. Voters will also be wary of giving out yet another Tony to Gypsy's cast, and besides, Gaines already has 3 of the damn things. However, if Best Actor swings to Szot, look for Breaker to take it.

-Merediz probably deserves it, but everybody's talkin' about Benanti this season.

-This one is a toughie, but those projections are cramazing and this'll probably be their only Tony. However, don't be surprised if South Pacific takes it. Those voters love a design category sweep.

-Voters don't know what to make of this category, so they'll throw it to 39 Steps, which had some cool sound tricks. Besides, who DOESN'T want to hear "Mic Pool" read at the podium?

Acme Sound Partners, In The Heights
-Same reasons as above, minus the awesome name. "Mic Pool". I love that.

Best Direction of a Play

Anna D. Shapiro, August: Osage County
-The steamroller rolls on.

Best Direction of a Musical

Bartlett Sher, Rodgers & Hammerstein's South Pacific
-He did a great job, but it could go to crusty old Arthur Laurents. He's like Broadway's old, racist grandfather who gets gunk on his lips and it's really hard to talk to him because you can't stop looking at it.

Rob Ashford, Cry-Baby
-It's time to give Ashford something, even for a crappy show. Blankenbueler (spelling?) actually deserves it, though, so he could pick it up.

-The only award they'll hope to get tonight.
