Anyone else a fan? Seth Rudetsky is hilarious, and I love the Showtune Showdown, although I get POed when people can't answer the simplest questions (like naming all the Broadway Mama Roses, GOSH).

I usually listen to The Broadway Breakfast with Christine Pedi in the mornings. I never realized how much I loved her until she was gone for a week and the replacement was just so boring!
And I caught the Showtune Showdown one time and this 10 year old kid was whooping the older people's butts, it was fun

Posted: 5/10/09 at 7:24pmI remember that! I think his name was Eli, and he totally kicked butt. I was actually there when it happened, because the tapings of the show are open to the public in the Times Square Visitor Center. I'd recommend it to anyone who's never been! There are photo and autograph sessions with the guests after the show. That's how I got pictures with Cheyenne Jackson and John Tartaglia!

Sirius came as a six month free trial with my car. I loved XM Live on Broadway so much I caved in and bought a year contract. Seth Rudetsky is addicting.
scott68- I've never been to the Wednesday shows but I've always wondered, how busy are they?

Posted: 5/10/09 at 7:36pmIt really depends on the guests. John Tartaglia's day was crazy, because it also featured Lynda Carter (aka Wonder Woman) promoting her new CD, plus the [tos] boys as special guests, so the place was packed to capacity, and there were even paparazzi. But almost any other Wednesday, it's super accessible. The seating does tend to fill up, but as long as you get there maybe ten minutes early, 11:50 am or so, you're sure to get a seat. Even if you don't, there's tons of standing room.

I love listening the show. Probably my favorite thing about having Direct TV at my house is that is has the Sirius XM channels, so I listen to the Broadway station as much as I can.
I love Seth's show. I could listen to him all day, he's so hilarious. I would love to go see it live. I'll have to do that one day.

Has anyone gone to see the show (Seth's)?
I went last week, and it was pretty cool. There was a lady beside me who I think goes every week.

Posted: 5/10/09 at 8:32pmThanks for the info Scott. I've always thought about going but worried it would be a mad house. I think I'll have to check it out some day soon.

I've been twice. Once with Kerry Butler, Mark Shaman (sp?), and Chris Seiber. Great show. It was also the episode where the lady couldn't name all the Mama Roses. I can name every one on Broadway but not all the tours and stuff.
The next time was with Nancy Opel and Anthony something, he is in Hair. Nancy Opel was hilarious! I love her, she is making me want to see Toxic Avenger.
I was listening to it today in the car while my dad was in the store. I stayed in the car. That is normally the only time I get ti listen to it and I am always extremely disappointed by the music selection. I was once listening to it for about 15 minutes and all I got was Wicked, Young Frankenstein, and The Producers.

Posted: 5/10/09 at 9:08pmI'm excited for this week's show! Titus Burgess (now in Guys and Dolls) and Hunter Foster (now in Happiness) are the guests. It's always a fun time, and even if you aren't that invested in the guests, it's free and an hour long, and you can leave whenever. Definitely worth stopping by.

Posted: 5/10/09 at 11:00pmI just bought a 2009 Hyundai Accent, that came with a 3 month free trial of Sirius - XM. I just wish the song info would stay on longer on the little screen. I do like Seth and his special brand of humor. I also listened to Bernadette singing "Rose's Turn" from "Gypsy", for the first time. I must say I was underwhelmed by it. It was like Betty Boop trying to sound tough, but with limited effect. In other recordings, she sounds great. Also, I got to hear Lucille Ball "sing" in a selection from "Wildcat." (wasn't wild about that too.) I'm not sure whether I'll subscribe to XM Radio once the trial membership ends, but I'm enjoying it (for the most part) in the meantime. from RC in Austin, Texas
