So this was just announced. My first reaction was excitement because I loved this movie. But it just makes me wonder, how many movies are we going to switch to the stage? I guess if the book and music/lyrics are strong and they get the right cast, that should be all that matters. But I guess I personally would like to see more original pieces come to broadway.

In this economy, I guess they are going with what they think will sell.

What do you guys think?

I think it will probably suck.

How hard do you think they're going to try to get Norbert and Sherri Renee?

Other than that, did you enjoy the play Mrs Lincoln?

They are totally wasting talent, energy and money on this one-among the other blockbuster rentals..

A part of me would like to see this as a play instead of a musical.

This could produce some interesting songs but not necessarily an interesting musical.

I agree with Anna_Elizabeth.

It always amuses me when I hear people going on about the lack of originality in Broadway shows. It seems to me that most of them are adapted from movies or books or operas or ballets.
