So this was just announced. My first reaction was excitement because I loved this movie. But it just makes me wonder, how many movies are we going to switch to the stage? I guess if the book and music/lyrics are strong and they get the right cast, that should be all that matters. But I guess I personally would like to see more original pieces come to broadway.
In this economy, I guess they are going with what they think will sell.
What do you guys think?

I agree with Anna_Elizabeth.
It always amuses me when I hear people going on about the lack of originality in Broadway shows. It seems to me that most of them are adapted from movies or books or operas or ballets.
