Yet another show I wish I could've seen.

I was at the closing performance on Sunday and it was such a special evening. Christian Borle, Brian D'Arcy James, and Will Chase were all in the audience. I've never seen a crowd be more loving than in this show. After the performance, my friend who I saw it with told me she'd never been in a house with so much love overflowing. After "A Musical", the entire crowd stood up and clapped for about 2-3 minutes. At various moments throughout the night, I was sitting so close I could see the tears in some of the actors' eyes. It was such a joyous experience.

We almost went when we saw the last show was on TKTS.  Got to the booth around 4:30PM and they only had singles, and no "piggybacks".  Was surprised it was even available.

Ended up at Natasha & Pierre instead, also surprisingly on TKTS with Groban in attendance.

 ????

I was busy traveling all weekend for various New Year's plans, so I hadn't seen Rob McClure's Instagram post about not wanting to miss out on the closing performance because of all the support and inspiration despite being ill and worried about being sick onstage, but that was a great example of the actors' love for the show that as you said, was returned in kind by the audience. I'm smiling now thinking about the ensemble member upstage who was sneaking in a few waves at friends or family during the extended applause after "Something Rotten."
