After "A Musical", the entire crowd stood up and clapped for about 2-3 minutes. At various moments throughout the night, I was sitting so close I could see the tears in some of the actors' eyes. It was such a joyous experience."
????
I was busy traveling all weekend for various New Year's plans, so I hadn't seen Rob McClure's Instagram post about not wanting to miss out on the closing performance because of all the support and inspiration despite being ill and worried about being sick onstage, but that was a great example of the actors' love for the show that as you said, was returned in kind by the audience. I'm smiling now thinking about the ensemble member upstage who was sneaking in a few waves at friends or family during the extended applause after "Something Rotten."
