Hello!
I've been following these boards for a while and I had an idea for a fun thread. (There is a similar one on the Off-Topic board, but this is a more theatrical spin on a fun idea!)
The other day I was in The Drama Book Shop and was browsing the numerous titles available. I thought of all the shows I would never have been introduced to if it were not for a friend, so I thought maybe we could all help each other out!
So, I just finished... "Shivered" by Philip Ridley. I did see "Mercury Fur" and was a fan, so I went into the store looking for more of his plays. This one did not disappoint and I would be interested to see it live one day. (Although, I wouldn't count on it.) It's a nonlinear tale about a decaying family and those around them in their small town. Due to its nonlinear structure, there were many twists and I audibly gasped at one point. It's surely not a show for everyone, but I do recommend it if you are into dark, grisly shows. I could only imagine what the final moments would be like live onstage.
So... what plays have you read recently?
