The Public Theater has extended the run of Neil LaBute's Wrecks, a solo show starring Ed Harris, for three weeks, to November 19. Previews began on September 26, and the original five-week run sold out a full week before opening night, set for October 10. LaBute is directing the show at the Public's Anspacher Theater.
Described as the story of one man's unique love for his recently deceased wife, Wrecks was first produced last fall with Harris at Everyman Palace Theatre in Cork, Ireland. The play marks his first appearance on the New York stage in a decade. Harris starred in Sam Shepard's Simpatico at the Public in 1994 and and was last seen on Broadway in Ronald Harwood's Taking Sides. Other theater credits include Sam Shepard's Fool For Love (Obie), George Furth's Precious Sons (Drama Desk Award), Prairie Avenue, Scar, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Grapes of Wrath and Sweet Bird of Youth.

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."
