Not the way it would ever be performed in a West Side Story, but a gorgeous variation on the usual theme. Each of them captures the spirit of the song and the character perfectly.

Posted: 5/18/13 at 3:10pmThanks for sharing this. Paul Nolan was Tony in Gary Griffin's WSS at the Stratford Festival in 2009. A very balletic performance for a character that barely dances. He sang the b flat in 'Maria' lying with his back to the stage, arms outstretched. It sounds odd, but it was thrilling.
