I am gearing up for all my college auditions and I have my monologues (which is usually more difficult than songs). I'm a bit unsure of my song choices right now. I'm 17, but I look older and can play older. I have an old timey voice and a strong mix voice. Right now I'm thinking that I'm going to do "Mr. Snow" from "Carousel" and "Come to Your Senses" from "Tick, Tick, Boom", but I could definitely use suggestions. If the above songs are poor choices, I would like to hear your opinion on that as well.

I'm 17 as well, and I like to use "What I Did for Love". "I Dreamed a Dream" is good for showing off a good range, umm..."I Am What I Am" is a good up-tempo that is easy to act too. Just some ideas, hope they helped!
"What I Did For Love" and "I Dreamed a Dream" are both very overdone. "Mr. Snow" and "Come to Your Senses" are not as overdone and if you do them well, highly impressive. They are also VERY contrasting which is cool.
If you can do then well...they will be great! I think Im going to do Come TO YOur Senses and I Can Cook Too

Your choices are good vocally, but they're both very serious--I might try something a little funnier in place of one or the other--"Alto's Lament" or "Art is Calling for Me" or something. Just please not "That'll Show Him" from FORUM! It's done WAAAAY too much and ISN'T FUNNY.
