You alone can make my song take flight...it's over now, the music of the night...

Back, he spurred like a madman, shrieking a curse to the sky. With the white road smoking behind him and his rapier brandished high! Blood-red were the spurs i' the golden noon; wine-red was his velvet coat, when they shot him down on the highway, down like a dog on the highway, and he lay in his blood on the highway, with the bunch of lace at his throat... Zombie Prom-

Here's to us
Here's to us
Here's to all we have in store
Here's to you
Here's to me
You made my life worth living for
From Eve and Adam
To the atom bomb
Here's to all the years ahead...

Here's to high school
How it flies
To the bonds and to the ties
To the love that never dies...

Any specific genre?

"I've Loved These Days" by Billy Joel

but use the "Movin' Out" version - it sounds better and they replaced the line about cocaine with something more appropriate for a high school.

Listen to the lyrics, they're perfect.

"For Good" from WICKED.

Hate the show all you want, it's perfect for school graduation.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I like OUR TIME, but it doesn't appeal to the masses of students. Most will find it boring - I know I think it's not the most exciting song...

I still vote for Billy Joel's song - PERFECT lyrics, and it's a song everyone will be able to recognize and enjoy. The same can't be said for WICKED....

i def. agree with Billy Joel...the song is perfect

Now we take our time, so nonchalant
And spend our nights so bon vivant
We dress our days in silken robes
The money comes
The money goes
We know its all a passing phase

We light our lamps for atmosphere
And hang our hopes oh chandeliers
We're going wrong, we're gaining weight
We're sleeping long and far too late
And so it's time to chang our ways
But I've loved these days....

So before we end and then begin
We'll drink a toast to how it's been
A few more hours to be complete
A few more nights on satin sheets
A few more times that I can say
I've loved these days

"Move On" from Sunday in the Park with George by Stephen Sondheim.

Stop worrying where you're going, move on
If you can know where you're going, you've gone
Just keep moving on.

I chose, and my world was shaken--so what?
The choice may have been mistaken
but choosing was not.
You have to move on.

Look at what you want,
Not at where you are,
Not at what you'll be.
Look at all the things you've done for me:
Opened up my eyes
Taught me how to see
Notice every tree!
Understand the light!
Concentrate on now!
I want to move on . . .
I want to explore the light.
I want to know how to get through
through to something new--
Something of my own!

Move on!
Move on!

Stop worrying if your vision is new.
Let others make that decision . . .
they usually do!
You keep moving on.
Look at what you want,
Not at what you are
Not at what you'll be
Look at all the things you gave to me.

See what's in my eyes, And the color of my hair,
and the way it catches light.
And the care, and the feeling
And the light, moving on!

We've always belonged together.
We will always belong together!
Just keep moving on.

Anything you do, let it come from you--
then it will be new.
Give us more to see.

I SING THE BODY ELECTRIC from FAME
OUR TIME from MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG
or FOR GOOD from WICKED

they are all wonderful choices.

I do like the Billy Joel song, but it has always reminded me more of death than graduation for some reason, too much of a Downer for me at graduation time - just me though.

No specific genre....Just any song you can think of that is good for an end.
Thanx Everyone for their ideas!
