Posted: 4/17/05 at 12:03pmHas this been discussed? If I am correct, It hasn't been on Bway since 82' right? And it lasted over a year if that right? So, why hasn't it been revived? I heard such amazing things when Alice Ripley did the show in DC.. why can't they bring this show back instead of a charity?

SONG and DANCE literally does that,,,,breaks apart a Broadway musical. It is like going to a singer at a concert and then the second act is like a dance recital. It doesn't work particularly well. Good score good dancing. Someday, they should combine the two acts and turn it into a fullbodied musical. It does not play like a Broadway musical the way it currently is. It is more of a throwback to days gone by. Ultimately, Bernadette was great, as was Mr. D'Amboise as the lead dancer, but it was not a terribly satisfying theater experience.

I only ask because I have never found anyone who liked the show as much as me. Myself, I don't think I have ever found the connection with the first and second act (that whole second act of Sunday in the Park syndrome) but I still love "Capped teeth and Ceaser Salad.........I listened to a new recording (from London maybe) at Borders and thought it wasn't the same without Bernie.....I don't think it's worth reviving.....

FYI: Song and Dance was on Broadway during the 1985-1986 season, not '82. Bernadette left Sunday in the Park With George to start working on Song and Dance.
