Who would be your dream Emma if this show was revived on Broadway?
For me Farah Alvin someone who is amazingly talented but isn't a huge name

I'd like to see Bebe Neuwirth in the role.
But... at this point... would her age limit her being Emma?

Bebe Neuwirth is too much of an ice queen to play Emma.
Jane Krakowski (who might be a bit too long in the tooth for it, but is ideal for the role) or Anne Hathaway (who is probably too young for it at this points) are both actresses that I'd love to see tackle Emma and are actually able to sell tickets. Especially, Krakowski I think would be brilliant in the role, she reminds me of Bernadette Peters sometimes. Anika Noni Rose is someone else that would probably be pretty good in the role.
Of course the show won't be revived on Broadway unless Lindsay Lohan agrees to do it, but both Hathaway and Krakowski have been on Encores! shows before so why not give them the chance to play Emma for three nights at an Encores! presentation?
If they ever do it at Encores! or Off-Broadway, I hope they use the Broadway SONG & DANCE that was recorded with Peters. I can't stand TELL ME ON A SUNDAY.

if it's ever revived i hope they produce the bway version and not TELL ME ON A SUNDAY by itself.
Idina, please.
or Laura Benanti.
or how about making 'Emma' TREVOR and do a male version. Wouldn't have to change many or any of the lyrics.

Posted: 3/12/08 at 1:49pmRipley played the role in Washington, right? I can't really remember where she played it regionally. I believe the version she did was TELL ME ON A SUNDAY, not sure if it's the revised Act I that was seen on Broadway or the inferior London version. Her voice is great for the role, but I think there's other actresses I'd like to see before her.

in an interview kritzer said ripley asked her if she wanted to go on and she said no.

Martine McCutcheon would be brilliant in this!
She is one of the most underrated actresses.
I fell in love with her on Eastenders years ago!
I have her musicality cd and it is wonderful!
