My voice teacher has me singing predominately opera which is great but I want to do some musical theater, too. I am a lyric coloratura and would appreciate suggestions as to songs that might be good for me. I have an expansive range -- A below middle C to high F above high C.
I know many songs in this genre of course but would love other suggestions.
Thanks.

What songs do you already know? That might help so we can give you new suggestions. I've worked with my voice teacher to "walk the fine line" between opera and musical theatre rep as well.

Too many to list. But I am interested in what other people interpret as appropriate for my vocal range. Always looking to expand my repetoire.

I know that it is considered overdone, but I have been to several auditions that have asked for 'Glitter and Be Gay' from all sopranos. And I mean even at "Hair" auditions. So it is definately something to know. Also '14 G'.
He Plays the Violin - 1776
Feelings - THE APPLE TREE
What's the Use of Wond'rin' - CAROUSEL
One More Kiss - FOLLIES
On the Steps of the Palace - INTO THE WOODS
The Beauty Is - THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA
My White Night - THE MUSIC MAN
I would imagine practically any of Christine's stuff in PHANTOM would be good for you.
In My Life from LES MIS?
THE WOMAN IN WHITE may also be a good one to look at.
