I am doing a senior show next year and one of the songs (sung by a female) I need to do has to have a monologue before it. The only song that I know of is Nothing from Chorus Line. Does anyone know any other songs and from what show has a monologue preceding it?

I've only seen Chicago as a movie but I know Roxie talked before she sang the song "Roxie." I'm not sure if this happened in the stage show or if this is the kind of monolouge you want but it's all I can think of now.
I can't think of any long monologues, but Rose's Turn from Gypsy is preceded by a very intense monologue. Another great song that has a monologue before it is "Before the Parade Passes By."

How about these:
Maybe this Time from Cabaret
Time to start Living from Pippin
Streetsinger from Brooklyn
greeneyedone probably suggested the best song preceded by a great monologue. I highly recommend doing the Roxie monologue followed by the song "Roxie."

Perfectly Marvelous from Cabaret. Oh wait, it has Cliff in it. Maybe if you just skipped Cliff's lines? :)
